The mission of True Roots is to provide aesthetic pleasure and environmental health through landscaping of private residences, and inspire appreciation and stewardship of the natural world through education of youth and adults.
True Roots designs emphasize native plants, and incorporate non-invasive naturalized species as well. We also offer incentives for the replacement of invasive plants with native ones.

Owner Paco Verin was trained at Longwood Gardens in the two-year Professional Gardener Training Program, and is a PA Certified Horticulturist. Prior to that, he worked for six years at the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, serving Philadelphia's community gardeners in PHS's program, Philadelphia Green. He also did a two-year organic farming apprenticeship with the Accookeek Foundation, and has given numerous workshops in PA, NJ and DE on organic vegetable growing, and sustainable living.What's in a name
The name "True Roots" speaks to the ethos of the company. Across all cultures and economic statuses, humanity's true roots are in Nature itself. For time out of mind it has been an inspiration, a guide, a mystery, and above all and forever, our source of survival. Therefore, the company True Roots holds stewardship of Nature as its highest priority, and supporting people's healthy relationship with Nature as a prime directive.
